VICTORY OVER THE STORMS OF LIFE

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK


Sometimes we come to the conclusion that as God’s children, we are immune from the challenges or battles of life. Hence, whenever there are challenges in our life, we then think that God is no longer with us.
In Mark 4:35-38 (KJV) it reads, “And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there was also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?”
In the scripture above, we are told that when Jesus and His disciples entered the ship to cross over to the other side of the sea, a terrible storm arose. Even though the disciples were with Jesus Christ in the ship, yet they were not immune from the terrible storm. Despite the presence of Jesus in the ship, it did not stop the waves from breaking into the ship to the point that it was about to sink.
Notice that though the presence of Jesus did not stop the terrible storm from arising, it stopped the ship from sinking. Though Jesus did not stop the waves from beating into the ship, He made sure that none of His disciples perished in the sea.
My brother and sister, that you have Jesus in your life may not stop you from the challenges of life, but it will ensure that you’re never overwhelmed by your challenges. The presence of Jesus may not stop the trials in your life, but it’s a guarantee that you will be victorious at the end.
Hear the word of the Lord for you this week. God says, He will not leave nor forsake you no matter what you go through in life.
My brother and sister, if Jesus Christ saved His disciples from drowning in the sea at the end, then be rest assured that victory will surely be yours at the end in the name of Jesus Christ.
